who is diz bravo?

Melbourne-based Dan “Diz Bravo” Ryan is a distinctive voice in contemporary Australian visual culture.
Part street-chronicler, part modern graphic auteur, Dan has over a decade of experience crafting immersive visual narratives across independent and commissioned work.
His signature aesthetic is bold and schematic, favouring high-contrast compositions, angular framing and kinetic, concussive rhythm. He applies his background as a graffiti writer, photographer and musician to filmmaking, forging an interdisciplinary approach that spans intimate documentary vérité, kinetic art-film, gritty observational photography and rapid-cut animated dreamscapes.
Dan’s inimitable style has attracted high-end commercial clients such as Fender Instruments and Specht Design but his cultural home is nested firmly in underground street culture - trusted to visually represent iconic musical acts the likes of Melbourne’s iconic hip hop duo Posseshot and the internationally acclaimed, kings of hardcore, Grim Reality.
In 2024, Dan’s debut short film ‘Jackhammered’ was short-listed in Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle film festival, and screened at Smodcastle Theatre in New Jersey.
